What is a share?
A share is your portion of the farm's harvest or your piece of the crop!

Our CSA Farm Share offers the following options:

A Full share feeds 4-6 people with fresh-picked, in-season fruits and vegetables at the peak of ripeness. The full share will receive extra unique items that are not available to medium share holders. The Medium, Bi-weekly & Harvest Shares feed 2-4 people with different varieties of produce. In the first weeks you may receive strawberries and greens. Then throughout the season, you will enjoy a wider variety of fruits and vegetables, including our eco-certified peaches and apples. Our team is dedicated to providing a terrific variety of produce each week. 

Harvest Share: This share starts around the first week of August and will be a medium size share for 9 weeks. This share eliminates the early season portion of CSA, which would include berries and greens. 

By joining our CSA Farm Share, you'll reap the benefits of healthy, locally-grown fruits and vegetables sourced from our Middlefield, CT farm and from our local partner farms.

For 18 consecutive weeks starting in June, you'll receive a share of flavorful, nutrient-rich crops based upon seasonal availability. Throughout the summer and fall, you'll enjoy an ever-changing variety of fresh-picked produce. Our CSA farm share is designed to provide members with farm-fresh, local fruits and vegetables each week, while supporting local agriculture in your community. 

You will receive an email the week before pick up starts. Please add info@lymanorchards.com and orders@lymanorchards.com to your email list to ensure it gets to your inbox.

How do I receive my share?
When you choose your share in the drop-down above, please select the version with the day of the week you prefer to pick up your share at Lyman Orchards Apple Barrel Farm Market.

Pickups are on Tuesday or Thursday from 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm.

The program begins in mid-June (early August for Harvest Share). The start is all dependent on crop growth and you will receive communication via email the week prior.  Please add info@lymanorchards.com and orders@lymanorchards.com to your email list to ensure it gets to your inbox. If you cannot make it on your respective day, you can designate a friend or neighbor to pick up your share for you. If you do not pick up your share before noon the following day, you forfeit your pick up for that week.

Customers will be able to pick out their own produce from the dedicated CSA bins. This allows customers to pick each produce item themselves to meet their own satisfaction.

Are there any other benefits for participating in Lyman Orchards' CSA Farm Share?

Yes, there are definitely additional benefits to participating in the Lyman Orchards CSA Farm Share. In addition to a weekly share of just-picked fruits and vegetables that have been hand-selected just for members, you will also receive:

• Welcome Gift. On your first day of picking up your CSA Farm Share, you will receive a welcome gift of a Fruit of the Orchard Tart included with your share. You might continue to receive some extra bakery treats throughout the CSA program.
• Reusable Bags. Each CSA member will receive a Lyman Orchards reusable bag on their first pick up date to pack their produce. Each CSA member is responsible for bringing their reusable back back each pick up day. This bag can be any reusable bag, it does not need to be the one provided to you on the first day.
• Pick Your Produce. Customers are able to pick out their own produce from the dedicated CSA bins. This allows customers to pick each produce they receive themselves to meet their own satisfaction.
• Harvest Shares. This share starts the first week of August and will be a Medium size share for 9 weeks. This share eliminates the early season portion of CSA, which would include berries and greens.
• 10% off Produce, Milk, Eggs & Cheese. From the first week of your CSA Pick-up to the last week, you're able to receive 10% off produce, milk, eggs, & cheese at the Apple Barrel Farm Market
• CSA Exclusive Discount Deals. We will announce frequent discount deals that will only be valid for CSA members.*
• Newsletter. Weekly emails with tips and flavorful recipes for the specific produce in that week's share, happenings on the farm, updates from our partner farmers, as well as behind the scenes information and stores.
• CSA-Specific Recipe Website. Unlimited 24/7 access to, Cook With What You Have.
